Set in one of Chattanooga’s fastest-growing areas, Camp Jordan Parkway will be the site of a brand new emergency room. Parkridge East Hospital expects to soon break ground on the 11,000-square-foot project, which will be located at 495 Camp Jordan Parkway, between Bass Pro Shops and Camp Jordan.

“This investment of more than $15 million will allow easier access to premium emergency services at the entrance of one of Hamilton County’s fastest developing growth areas,” said Will Windham, CEO of Parkridge East Hospital in a release. “The convenient location will provide high-quality emergency services with access to a higher level care through Parkridge East and the entire Parkridge Health System.”

The announcement comes after months of planning, including the re-zoning of the 1.71-acre building site from commercial/retail to medical use. The new Parkridge East ER will contain 12 emergency room beds and a specialized trauma room. It will also offer various diagnostic capabilities, including CT and diagnostic X-ray, as well as a pharmacy, on-site laboratory and radiology support.

The Camp Jordan area has seen record growth during the past seven years, spurred on by the development of Jordan Crossing, a retail and entertainment project that lies just outside the park and includes a variety of restaurants, shops, and a TopGolf. Opened in August 2020, CHI Memorial Stadium is located across I-75 from the park and is home to USL League One soccer team, the Chattanooga Red Wolves. The venue is expected to anchor a $125 million investment in the surrounding area.

The Parkridge East ER is just the latest expansion of emergency services through the Parkridge Health System. In October 2020, Parkridge North ER opened on Lee Highway, offering services such as bariatrics, behavioral health, decontamination and isolation, pelvic exams, and trauma and resuscitation, in addition to emergency care.

Hospital officials said the new Parkridge East ER will provide the same top-quality care as its other Chattanooga facilities, with specially-trained staff, board-certified physicians, and nurses.
