Watch This Episode Here!

Dr. K’s Tenn Cans is reinventing convenience in the cooking market. Formulated and created locally, founder Kurt Koontz didn’t over complicate this idea: turn any grill into a smoker in seconds. Koontz originally developed and produced these cans out of his garage, turning a simple idea into an effective one. Today, Dr. K’s cans gets its grounding through the INCubator where its cans get proper manufacturing and resources.

Crafted with Intention, Dr K’s cans stand out though competition because there’s nothing quite like it. Available in seven different varieties, each can gets packed with a blend of wood and flavorings—and designed for convenience. Cody Mays, the warehouse fulfillment manager, emphasizes its packaging and branding to be super unique—reinforcing the products boldness in a crowded grilling accessories department.

The main goal is clear: deliciously smoked flavor without the all-day commitment. Achieving this gets as simple as it seems—peel the label, pop the top, poke a hole in the bottom—and they’re ready to be placed on the grill and start cooking. A minutes long process results in the same great taste as if it took hours. Overall, this functionality has become a core need for busy families and cooks.

Today, Dr. K’s Cans can be found in more than 150 locations across the region, with ambitions to expand into larger chains. Above all, the brands current focus stands on showing consumers it’s convenience, and how it can easily elevate everyday grilling.
