Connecting Chattanooga Businesses: Membership Services in 2022

Continuing TREND’s year-end review of 2022 highlights from your Chattanooga Chamber, this week we’re covering accomplishments of our most valuable partners – Chamber members. With over 1,800 memberships representing 100,000 employees, the Membership team works to champion local business leaders with programs, services and events aimed at furthering regional growth.

The Membership services division aims to engage Chamber members in leading the business community and other efforts to drive economic impact and prosperity throughout the entire greater-Chattanooga region. Members benefit from discounts, services and unique offerings such as ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies for businesses that are opening or celebrating major milestones. Ribbon cuttings include a photo opportunity in the Chattanooga Times Free Press, and additional promotion through the Chamber’s widely followed social media channels.

The membership team also works closely with an exclusive group of highly visible local professionals, our Chamber Ambassadors. These rockstar volunteers assist the Membership team with recruiting and mentoring new members as well as retaining existing members.

In 2022, Marcia Caldwell earned the Chattanooga Chamber’s annual “Ambassador of the Year” award for demonstrating a high degree of professionalism, knowledge and integrity. Ambassadors are pivotal partners to the Chamber’s success in member relations; each year they typically invest around 1,500 hours volunteering their time.

A major project of the Membership team this year has been launching a new-and-improved online Business Directory at ChattanoogaChamber.com. This new directory is easy to navigate, with the ability to search for member companies by keywords and categories. It’s a valuable resource to tap into during the holidays for those looking to shop locally. There are tons of great products and services offered, with promotional deals for the season, among the Chamber member base.

By joining other businesses in working to strengthen communities, create jobs, invest in talent development and improve livability, Chamber members report they experience increased professional satisfaction and a stronger sense of civic pride in Chattanooga.
