Chamber Receives Award for Economic Development Excellence

The Chamber’s Economic Development department won Site Selection’s Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development in the Metropolitan category.

“It’s an honor to receive this award for all of the effort our team dedicates to growing the Chattanooga region,” says Charles Wood, the Chamber’s Vice President of Economic Development.

The award recognizes top economic development agencies of the past year in micropolitan and metropolitan areas.

Criteria includes: total number of jobs created and and total amount of investment, per capita investment, jobs created in the region and the ways in which Economic Development Officers confront critical issues in their communities.

Other honorees in the Metropolitan group include the Austin Chamber and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, as well as the Greater Houston Partnership
