Columbia University’s Dr. Jason Wingard Keynotes Chamber of Commerce DIVERSIFY Luncheon June 27


Chattanooga, Tenn. (June 1, 2018) – Learn about the future of the workplace and best practices for developing leaders from DIVERSIFY Luncheon speaker Jason Wingard, Ph.D., on Wednesday, June 27, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

“We’re thrilled to host Dr. Wingard as our engaging DIVERSIFY keynoter,” said Christy Gillenwater, President & CEO of the Chattanooga Chamber. “He brings a message applicable to professionals at all career stages about increasing collaboration and embracing diversity and inclusion at work.”

The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce’s annual DIVERSIFY Luncheon seeks to build a business community that includes everyone by highlighting diversity, equity and inclusion strategies for local businesses.

“As Dean of a leading university, Dr. Wingard’s in depth experience with millennials and diverse pipelines will make the keynote engaging for those seeking to foster inclusive workspaces,” said H. Maria Noel, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.

Wingard, Dean and Professor of the Columbia University School of Professional Studies, will speak on managing talent across generations, fostering global collaboration and developing diverse talent pipelines. His expertise ranges from leadership development and professional learning to human capital management.

Wingard oversees Columbia University School of Professional Studies' academic research, programming, operational strategy and performance of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs and related centers and institutes. He is author of “Learning to Succeed: Rethinking Corporate Education in a World of Unrelenting Change” and “Learning for Life: How Continuous Education Will Keep Us Competitive in the Global Knowledge Economy.”

Prior to joining Columbia University, Wingard served as Chief Learning Officer at Goldman Sachs, where he led strategic development of the firm’s partners, managing directors and global workforce and oversaw the world-renowned Pine Street Leadership Development Group and Goldman Sachs University. He also served as Vice Dean of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania; Executive Director of the Leadership Institute at Stanford University; and Senior Fellow at the Aspen Institute.

He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Stanford University, an M.A. in Education from Emory University, an Ed.M. in Technology in Education from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Education, Culture and Society from the University of Pennsylvania.

Early bird tickets for the luncheon are $45 for Chamber members, $55 for non-members and $650 for corporate tables, available until June 11. After June 11, tickets become $55 for members and $65 for non-members. Register here.

The DIVERSIFY Luncheon is held in conjunction with the DIVERSIFY Marketplace Friday, June 29. Held at the First Tennessee Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the DIVERSIFY Marketplace will be a family-oriented festival celebrating all things inclusive and diverse. Admission to the marketplace is free, and the public is invited to shop and support our regional businesses and nonprofits. Find everything from natural body products to jewelry, baked goods, clothing, floral arrangements, recreation equipment and more from a wide variety of vendors. Culturally authentic cuisine will also be available, ranging from barbecue, Americana, soul food, Filipino and more. Find information about booth space here.
