Chattanooga Chamber Presents Volunteer Awards

The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding volunteer leaders from our community at today’s Annual Meeting.

“We’d like to thank the Chamber and their staff for their support. They let us color outside the lines, but just enough!” said Andrew Zito, President of the North Chattanooga Council, named Council of the Year today. “We have wonderful business and community members in our footprint — engaging and serving them is what it’s all about.”

Award recipients included:

·         Chamber Council of the Year: North Chattanooga Council. The North Chattanooga Chamber Council elevated its businesses this year through engagement, education and connections. The Council’s monthly meeting attendance increased by 72 percent, and the Council donated 100 volunteer hours and $3,000 to Rivermont Elementary, among other accomplishments.

·         Chamber Council Membership Award: Ooltewah/Collegedale Council. The Ooltewah/Collegedale Chamber Council recruited 17 Chamber member businesses.

·         Chamber Ambassador of the Year: Lex Ryan, The Mosquito Authority. Ryan personally visited members to deliver over 300 operation thank you books and attended 48 ribbon cuttings.

“Connections between people and businesses – that’s the best thing about the Chamber,” Ryan said. “The Ambassadors program is a great avenue to help business owners and I’m happy to serve.”

Annual Meeting also recognized the Chamber's 2018-19 board chair Tom Glenn of Elder's Ace Hardware and outgoing chair Larry Buie of Chattanooga Gas.

Nationally recognized Chamber of Commerce executive Mick Fleming delivered a keynote highlighting the power of community leaders.
