Slim & Husky’s Opens First Chattanooga Location

The country’s largest Black-owned pizza chain, Slim & Husky’s is on a mission to bring great food to communities nationwide. The company opened its first location this week in Chattanooga – and tenth location overall.

Headquartered in Nashville, the Slim & Husky’s team strives to bring communities together in everything they do through pizza and entertainment.

Their restaurant chain is inspired by hip-hop, R&B and artists from around the region that guests can enjoy while they explore the signature artisan pizzas or build their own and finish off with Slim & Husky’s cinnamon rolls.

The new location at 401 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. is conveniently located near the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, encouraging residents and visitors to incorporate the Slim & Husky’s experience into their plans.

In 2015, three friends Clint Gray, Derrick Moore and EJ Reed started Slim & Husky’s with the goal to reach their community through quality pizzas.

The co-founders have since expanded the company from their neighborhood in Nashville to four other Tennessee cities, Georgia and California. The new Chattanooga location will be equipped with a full-service bar and a stage for live entertainment. This restaurant will mark Slim & Husky’s first facility with multiple digital ordering kiosks for customers.

The company is continuing to grow and affect change across the country, offering employment opportunities and encouraging community engagement. Their efforts set them apart and further the goals of Chattanooga to create a livable and welcoming place for all residents and tourists.
