At the Chattanooga Chamber’s Annual Meeting two of the Chamber’s 12 area Councils received special recognition.

The Chamber named its Downtown Council the Council of the Year for members’ work bridging gaps between business and education in the downtown footprint.

“We had an outstanding board of well-rounded individuals and great organizations from all around Chattanooga,” says Joey Greer, past president of the Downtown Council. “We organized a debate for the mayors’ race and were able to donate funds back to education. Our board and members deserve this; it’s awesome.”

The North Hamilton County Council received the Membership Growth Award for recruiting 14 new Chamber members in 2016-17.

“While our Annual Meeting always represents a chance to celebrate our members, this year was especially meaningful as we recognize our volunteers’ contribution to being named 2017 ACCE Chamber of the Year,” says Sandra Brewer, Vice President of Member-Investor Services. “Immediately after winning Chamber of the Year, senior Chamber staff made plans to visit all 12 Councils to share the award.”
