Held the third Thursday of every month, After Hours brings business people together for an evening of networking and refreshments.

Every other year, the Council hosts one of the Chamber’s Business After Hours with a Silent Auction to raise money for education efforts in their footprint.
The Council offers $250 scholarships at each of its monthly meetings to one of the ten schools in the North Hamilton County footprint. These scholarships can be used toward the purchase of classroom supplies, for beautification projects, building improvements and much more.
We sat down with Elaine Merritt, North Hamilton County Council President, to learn more about the upcoming event.
Trend: Why did you decide to host a Chamber networking event?
Merritt: We want to highlight the north side of the county. North Hamilton County has beautiful natural assets.
Trend: What is special about your Council ?
M: We have high energy and are comprised of mostly small businesses. We follow the vision of the Chamber by identifying needs and bridging that gap in our area of the community.
Trend: What’s your favorite part of being part of the Chamber and why?
M: Bringing all the aspects of a community together – business, education, political and faith-based. We connect and network with all segments.
Trend: Anything else you’d like to add?
M: Bring extra money for the Silent Auction. The money we raise will go to local schools. We’ll have a camping trailer, golf bags, gym memberships, wine and lots of other great stuff to auction off. We will also take donations.
