West Star Aviation Expands in Chattanooga

MRO provider West Star Aviation plans to expand in Chattanooga with a $20 million project slated for completion by the end of 2017.

The project includes a new, more than 65,000-square-foot maintenance hangar that can accommodate any business aircraft. The hangar will offer 25,300 square feet of office space and a 41,500-square-foot paint facility, offering one-stop maintenance, paint, avionics and interior refurbishment convenient to West Star's eastern territory clients.

Illinois-based West Star also announced an agreement with aircraft manufacturer Embraer to provide 96-month landing gear overhauls for Phenom 100 and 300 light jets, dedicating its Grand Junction, Mich. and Chattanooga locations to this task, with Chattanooga handling the work from its existing facility.

West Star also conducts gear overhauls on Hawkers, Challengers, Learjets and King Airs at both locations.
