Using Video to Attract Talent

Kris Simmons

Many companies face the challenge of recruiting talent. After all, how do you stand out among the competition to recruit your company’s most precious asset (talent)? How do you tell your company story? How do you share the corporate culture? What about the tangible, and sometimes more importantly, the intangible benefits? If you want extraordinary candidates to apply to your company, you need to go beyond job boards and static listings and connect with candidates in a language they understand and care about.

Your company culture should be a huge part of your employer brand and attracting top talent to your organization. Using video can help interested candidates get a better feel for what your organization is all about. Make a recruiting video specific to each open position, giving candidates information about the job, its tasks and why they should apply. Be playful, be fun and give candidates as much information as you can about the position and the company. Utilize employees to provide video testimonials so potential candidates can get a taste of the work environment and company culture.

Keep in mind that your HR recruiting message should be treated like a marketing message. After all, you are marketing your product (company) to the consumer (employee). Be creative and tell an interesting story that will help you recruit the rockstar talent you deserve.

Example, Please.

See how these companies use video to showcase their corporate culture and use employees' video testimonials to showcase different perspectives and incentives of employment.
