Landrace Bioscience Receives Chattanooga Chamber’s Spirit of Innovation Award


The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce named Landrace Bioscience the 2020 Spirit of Innovation Award recipient at last night's virtual Spirit of Innovation Awards

2020 Spirit of Innovation finalists Text Request and Trekka were also recognized.  

Arlan Hamilton keynoted Spirit of Innovation this year. Hamilton is the founder and managing partner of Backstage Capital, a venture capital fund she built from the ground up while homeless. Backstage Capital is dedicated to minimizing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are people of color, women and/or LGBTQ.

The Spirit of Innovation Awards honor businesses that originated in the region and have potential to impact many people and inspire change. A volunteer-led committee made up of community business and tech leaders is responsible for selecting finalists based on their applications, as well as selecting the Spirit of Innovation Award recipient after site visits to each location.
