Chattanooga Chamber Announces Small Business Award Recipients


(Feb. 13, 2018) – The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce presented the 2018 Small Business Awards to four recipients at the Chamber’s Small Business Awards Luncheon.

Recipients are:

1-20 Employees Category:

Chattanooga School of Language (Finalists: Papercut Interactive and Shah Trucking)

21-44 Employees Category:
Manufacturing Repair & Overstock (Finalists: The Bitter Alibi and Variable Technologies)

45-200 Employees Category:
Reliance Partners (Finalists: Murmaid Mattress and MediTract)

Nonprofit Category:
Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (Finalists: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga and Chattanooga Goodwill Industries)

More than 1,300 area business leaders attended today’s event honoring these 12 local companies.

“I was so excited; my heart was beating fast,” said Laurie Stevens, founder of the Chattanooga School of Language, on receiving her award. “I had my teachers around me and it’s just an incredible feeling. It’s nice to be part of this community and to be one of so many strong and innovative companies that we celebrated today.”

Before and after the awards luncheon, attendees explored EXPO Chattanooga, the region’s largest tradeshow for local business featuring more than 200 exhibitors.
