DIVERSIFY Summit: Empowering Women Leaders

DIVERSIFY Summit returns to the Chattanooga Convention Center on June 14. Registration is open until June 12.

Presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and hosted by our Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, this half-day summit featuring keynote speaker, Jennifer Stanley, partner at McKinsey and Company, draws upon insights from McKinsey’s most recent study on women in the workplace — conducted in partnership with LeanIn.org.

This study represents the largest of its kind on women in corporate America, with data collected from more than 300 organizations employing over 12 million people. The research surveyed over 40,000 employees and conducted interviews with women from diverse backgrounds, including women of color, LGBTQ+ women, and women with disabilities.

The study aims to provide an intersectional perspective on the barriers and biases faced by women in the workplace and identify pathways for the advancement and retention of women leaders.

At the summit, Stanley will share her expertise in business-to-business sales and speak on diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

Stanley, a previous Rhodes Scholar, holds a master’s in international political economy from the London School of Economics, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Her publications focus on omnichannel sales in the digital era, and she frequently speaks on issues related to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

This year’s DIVERSIFY Summit also features breakout sessions led by local industry professionals, Aletheia Silcott, Vice President, Human Resources, Astec Industries; and Brittany Paone, Chief People Officer, Steam Logistics.

As the first in-person summit in three years, this event provides a valuable opportunity for leaders and professionals to network and learn from experts.

Leading up to this event, DEI advocates including Lorne Steedley, Vice President, Diversity and Inclusive Growth, Chattanooga Chamber, took to the media to share their thoughts.

Watch Steedley talk all things DIVERSIFY in a recent This N That appearance, here.
