Meet Marcia Caldwell, 2022 Ambassador of the Year

Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors have worked to bridge the gap between business and community for more than 30 years. As the welcoming arm of the Chattanooga Chamber, these volunteers serve to foster close relationships within member businesses while networking through grand openings, ribbon cuttings and other important events.

This year, our Chattanooga Chamber names Marcia Caldwell, office manager and marketing director, Embark Project Services, as Ambassador of the Year – a title reserved for ambassadors who have exhibited the highest degree of professionalism, knowledge and integrity.

“Marcia exemplifies what it means to be a Chamber ambassador. She attends our monthly meetings, ribbon cuttings and other programs. She champions our member businesses and is an incredible resource to everyone. I am truly grateful to Marcia and all the ways she volunteers for the Chamber,” says Meredith Rivers, Chattanooga Chamber Sr. Director, Member Services.

Caldwell shared more about her career and passion for serving Chattanooga businesses in a recent interview.

Trend: Tell us about Embark Project Services and how it helps our community

Caldwell: We are an 11-year-old company of general contractors who also offer electrical and plumbing. Our services include custom homes, renovations, remodels and additions for homes. I love what I do. I love seeing us go in and take someone’s dream for their home and turn it into reality. It’s extremely rewarding, and our guys are very conscious of doing the job well.

Trend: What motivated you to become a Chamber ambassador?

Caldwell: I have always tried to be involved in the community and give back. I went to Chamber events – AM Networking and Business After Hours – and to the Chamber Council meetings as well. It made me say, ‘I want to do that. I want to do what they do.’ And it’s fun!

Trend: How does it feel to be named 2022 Ambassador of the Year?

Caldwell: I get so emotional because I have worked so hard all my life. Since I was a young teenager, I always strived for more and always wanted to reach the next level. I’ve never known anything other than hard work. This is a huge honor.

Trend: What do you say to people interested in volunteering as ambassadors?

Caldwell: It is extremely rewarding. It gives you a lot of opportunities to meet new people and help businesses realize their potential. It feels good to meet so many wonderful people and be a part of something that is going to make our community better and help our city grow.
