Meet Our Chamber Ambassadors

Amanda Ellis

Ambassadors are the frontline and face of the Chattanooga Chamber. These volunteers attend ribbon cuttings and maintain contact with other Chamber members through phone calls and visits. Meet two of our Ambassadors here – Mia Credle and Christy Ramirez. Both are new to Chattanooga but jumped right into this volunteer role.

Mia Credle, Creekside at Shallowford

Trend: Where did you live prior to Chattanooga?

Credle: I lived in Athens, Geogia for 16 years and then moved to Atlanta. I've been a resident here in Chattanooga since 2016, but I wasn’t here full-time until this past August

T: What’s your favorite thing about living in the Chattanooga region?

C: What I love most about Chattanooga is that it's truly one of the best places to unwind. I used to travel a lot for work and was only home 8 days a month. Chattanooga helped me to make the most of that time with its diverse population, tons of scenic and historical sites, and what’s not to love about some of the best places to eat in the state.

T: What do you love about your job?

C: I love that I work continuously to not only make life better for older Americans who need us, but also to make things better for their families.

T: How has participating in Ambassadors been beneficial for you as a professional?

C: Participating in the Ambassador program has enabled me form countless professional relationships with local businesses owners. As an Ambassador, I help business owners understand the importance of joining the Chamber and introduce them to local contacts who will help them grow their business. At the same time, I form invaluable relationships that help me build my sales pipeline. Being new to Chattanooga, the Chamber has definitely been my link to some of Chattanooga’s finest business owners and their staff.

Christy Ramirez, Chattanooga Funeral Home

Trend: Where did you live prior to Chattanooga?

Ramirez: I spent the past 22 years in North Carolina, having graduated high school in Charlotte and college from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I met my husband Greg when I moved back to Charlotte. He grew up in Chattanooga. My husband, two dogs and I moved to Chattanooga last May from beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina where we lived since 2007. GO HEELS!!

T: What's your favorite thing about living in the Chattanooga area?

R: There are so many appealing aspects of Chattanooga that individually could have persuaded me to relocate here. I would have to say that the endless outdoor opportunities were the deciding factor. We try to do something outdoors everyday. We love hiking, kayaking and backpacking with our pups, Jack and Yazoo.

T: What do you love about your job?

R: As Community Outreach Coordinator for Chattanooga Funeral Home, I get to work with people from organizations across the city on projects to benefit the community. As a Licensed Funeral Director, it’s a privilege to compassionately serve families during an understandably difficult time.

T:  How has participating in Ambassadors been beneficial for you as a professional?

R: As a new resident, the Ambassador program has been instrumental in allowing me to become more engaged in the Chattanooga business community. I've already become good friends with some of the people that I've met through the program and I intend to develop lasting and beneficial relationships with other Ambassadors in the future.

The Chamber’s group of 40+ Ambassadors gave 1,962 volunteer hours in 2016-17.

They supported 74 ribbon cuttings, and made more than 3,300 contacts with members by telephone calls and face-to-face visits.
