M & M Industries Does It All: Creates Jobs and Helps Displaced Dogs

Jessica York

At the holidays and really any time, you want something special under the tree for everyone important in your life—including your fur child.

Your pooch brings you comfort and joy year round … and a Barkens Bucket by Sniff & Barkens makes the perfect gift: it will make your dog happy while helping displaced pets find a home.

The Barkens Bucket includes a fun pail, manufactured by our local M & M Industries, filled with six toys from Hartz. As a bonus, 10 percent of the proceeds go to Pilots N Paws to help its life-saving transports and rescue missions.

M & M Industries is a Chattanooga-based manufacturer of injection molded plastic pails, buckets, and lids with child-resistant locks. The five-gallon, easy-open yet dog-proof Barkens Bucket is a fun example of M & M’s products.

In addition to helping dogs in need through the Sniff & Barkens project, M & M Industries is creating 110 new jobs in the Hamilton County area when it expands its operations by adding a location on East 14th Street. This expansion invests $42 million in our region and adds to the revitalization of the Highland Park area.

“The Barkens Bucket is a great example of M & M’s work and our need for expansion. Larger companies might have turned away this mid-sized project, but we believe it’s in line with our commitment to ‘do good’ while doing well in our business. We plan to continue our effort with Sniff & Barkens by finding ways to support local pet charities in the future.” – Glenn Morris Jr., President & CEO, M & M Industries
