Thursday Three: Three Valentine’s Day Ideas for Your Weekend

By NATALIA PEREZ, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

February is a wonderful month for many reasons, a prominent one being that Valentine's Day happens right in the middle of it, giving us a reason to take advantage of holiday-themed treats, and a chance to spoil our loved ones and celebrate Galentine's Day (the best fake holiday ever; thanks Leslie Knope).

If you're feeling a little lost on how to celebrate it this year, Chattanooga offers several options for almost anything you feel like doing on the holiday: budget-friendly options, splurges, chill nights in, fancy nights out.

Whether you're coupled up, are celebrating with your Galentines, want to show some love to your favorite people or you just love holidays, here are three simple, fun things you can do for Valentine's Day weekend in Chattanooga this year.

Splurge on these Three-Course Meals

Frothy Monkey

Available for dine-ins and take outs, Frothy Monkey is bringing back its popular three-course Frothy Love dinners Feb. 12-14, available after 5 p.m. each day. The dine-in dinner comes with two entrees and a shared dessert, with the option to add a bottle of wine for $25. And to top it off, the restaurant is offering a dark chocolate caramel mousse bombe for your shared dessert.

Grab a friend, significant other or loved one and place your orders for this dinner for two here.

Public House

Public House's three-course Valentine's dinners are available to pre-order and pickup on Saturday, Feb. 13 or Sunday, Feb. 14. Dinners come with salads, choice of two entrees and molten chocolate cake and chocolate covered strawberries. Public House is pleased to offer Valentine’s day specials in a format that you can take home, place in the oven and enjoy at your leisure. All items will be individually packaged with instructions for reheating. Pre-order your meals here

Keep it Casual with a Dessert Tour

Valentine's Day is prime time for a sweet tooth, especially when it's to spoil yourself with some specialty/themed treats from Chattanooga bakeries and coffee shops. Here are a few places to stop in for V-Day treats:

(Be)Caffeinated

(Be)Caffeinated had a recipe contest with their baristas this past weekend, and three drinks rose to the top from their judge’s panel. They need your help deciding which one is best.
These three contestants will be the drinks of the moment for the next two weeks, and starting next week you'll be able to vote for your favorite. Stop in and taste your potential matches: the Lucky Red Velvet Latte, made with Irish Cream and red velvet, perfect for a quick pick-me-up; the FruiTea Refresher, made with chamomile tea, raspberry and OJ; and the Creme Brûlée Latte, made with notes of sugar, caramel and toasted marshmallow.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Nothing beats that signature cream cheese frosting on a bundt cake. You can choose from up to ten delicious bundt flavors or from 60 unique, holiday-themed, handcrafted cake designs.

Mad Priest Coffee Roasters

Enjoy an espresso with Mad Priest's unique, cozy, funky ambiance or purchase a new coffee blend from Colombia, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Guatemala and more.

Have a Relaxation Day at Poplar Creek Spa

This weekend is the perfect excuse to treat yourself and your Galentine or a loved one to a massage for two. Poplar Creek Spa currently offers 30-minute massages for $48, 60 minutes for $80, and plenty other options. Each Poplar's therapist uses his or her own personalized combination of massage techniques, customized to meet your individual needs and preferences.
